Educating refugee children PDF Print E-mail
Many of the children of refugees from Chin State, Burma, have no access to education when they arrive in New Delhi with their families. Most families are seeking refugee status and resettlement with the UNHCR.

Hope Adelaide provides scholarships to twenty children to enable them to attend local primary schools.

We also provide financial assistance to the Central Chin Women’s Organization and the Falam Chin Women’s Development Society to employ teachers to run classes for these children and others in the refugee community. The classes run five afternoons a week in two locations close to where the Chin people have settled in New Delhi, and include English and Hindi as well as assistance with general school subjects.
